I love the laundry list of associations. Turner, the Lurie/ Basquiat riff and Jeffrey Wright who will forever be Basquiat in my mind. Then you have Jeffrey Wright in Asteroid City.

I designed the Deep Ellum Dart station which involved tying all the many incarnations of that neighborhood together. Blind Lemon Jefferson to the Latino cultural center. I conceived it as a palimpsest. “The not yet meets the already gone.” was a quote by architect Steven Hull I used to give meaning to my laundry list

Yes! And thank you. I meant to add that he's in Phoenician Scheme, too. It's always so gratifying to trace these strands. That Dart station sounds so cool, and what a great monument to place. Nice callback to the Dylan conference with palimpsest ;)

Glad to see you've become a proper middle-aged man and have embraced baseball. (Was that the surprise for long-time friends?)

I'm listening to Florry right now and totally diggin' it. They live up to your Tulsa hype, Court. I love the visuals in this piece, too. I want to live in that grotto you've created where lovely mermaids flow. Funny you should mention Brian Wilson. On my ride home today I heard the cover of "In My Room" by Jakob Dylan and Fiona Apple from Echo in the Canyon and found it very touching. Final random thought. It has been so long since I listened to a tape that I didn't quite process the word when I read it in your #8 heading. In my head I pronounced it "ca-SET-tees," sort of like Cassavetes, and wondered what new artist you were about to introduce me to. Strange, right?

lol! Cassettes as a word looks so weird these days. And I’m glad you found Florry—their Tulsa street team was on it! Thanks for the kind words, GH.
